First Day

My first day went very well! I was able to meet many people that I will be working with on campus. The cool thing about Tulane’s campus is the close proximity to everything on campus. Just about every administrative office that's important is just in perfect walking distance of each other. The people at Tulane are very much a family and the university itself has a small but big feel to it. One of the many responsibilities that I will be having throughout the summer is working with the Tulane College Summer Transition Program, which is a recruitment program similar to LSU’s Spring fest, designed to get high school juniors in the New Orleans area to attend Tulane. I will be the graduate coordinator and responsible for supervising the peer mentors. It’s kind of a full circle experience because I was once a participant in the program during my high school years. All in all, I'm having a great time getting use to a new institution. Hope to blog soon about my adventures this summer. Peace!
